➤ GOLF TOUR­NA­MENT: Coun­try Club of Culpeper presents the Culpeper Open at 1 p.m. both days. 36 holes, stroke play, play­ers are flighted af­ter 1st round. Cost for the break­fast is $8 for adults, $5 for chil­dren 6-12 and un­der

AU­DI­TIONS FOR RAAC THE­ATRE CHRIST­MAS PLAY: Open au­di­tions for the 2018 per­for­mance, “Char­lotte’s Web,” will take place on Fri­day, Aug. 24, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Satur­day, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to noon. Call­backs will be Sun­day, Aug. 26, from 2 to 4 p.m. All au­di­tions will be at the RAAC Com­mu­nity The­atre, 310 Gay St., Wash­ing­ton.

SATUR­DAY, AU­GUST 25

➤ DARK SKIES: The Rappahannock League for En­vi­ron­men­tal Pro­tec­tion, to­gether with the Rappahannock County Recre­ational Fa­cil­i­ties Au­thor­ity is plan­ning to hold its next “dark sky” event at the Rappahannock County Park on Rt. 211, across from Lit­tle Wash­ing­ton, start­ing at 7:30 p.m. The main event will be a full moon and the plan­ets Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn. There will be as­tronomers with tele­scopes and a night pho­tog­ra­pher with a spot­ting scope to al­low you to take your own pic­ture of the full moon with your cell phone. Ev­ery­one is in­vited to this fun-filled fam­ily event.

➤ COM­MU­NITY FO­RUM: Join Foothills Fo­rum, the Rappahannock News and Busi­nesses of Rappahannock at 2 p.m. at Moun­tain­side Phys­i­cal Ther­apy, 12625 Lee High­way, for a com­mu­nity fo­rum on the four-part se­ries “Work in Progress” about the past, present and fu­ture of the county’s econ­omy.
