› RPM Suspension Arms for Traxxas X-maxx
Bombproof parts for big-hit action
When you want the most durable parts possible for your ride, you go to RPM. The line now includes parts for the Traxxas X-maxx, and as with all RPM parts, they’re molded of a proprietary plastic blend that RPM warranties against breakage in normal use—tough stuff. You can pick up a bumper mount, a wheelie bar, rear hubs, and a rear-bumper mount; the latest edition is suspension arms. Let’s bust these arms out of the package and take a closer look at what RPM has for your Traxxas X-maxx.
The X-maxx arms are sold “per corner:” you get one upper and one lower arm. So you’ll need to get four packs to complete the truck. The arms aren’t cheap at $28 a set, so it’s good that you don’t have to take an expensive set on a full set of eight arms all in one go. You can outfit one corner at a time, or just the front, and so on. RPM looked at its suspension-arm designs of the past for inspiration when making arms for the X-maxx. The upper arms feature a proven support structure to make them as indestructible as possible. RPM has taken the rear arms and changed their shape slightly to improve ground clearance, which means that the arms will will be spared some abuse when driving over various obstacles. Their design is based on RPM’S suspension arms made for the much heavier HPI Baja; since they hold up to that kind of hammering, they can certainly handle the weight, speed, and power of the X-maxx. According to RPM, the double support beam on the lower arms spreads the load of an impact, which further increases the strength of the arm. Another benefit of the upper and lower arms is that they feature a universal-fit design, so you don’t have to worry about installing them on the wrong corner; each upper and lower arm will go on any corner of the truck. RPM also offers the arms in colors. You can pick them up in black, like you see here, or in blue.
The X-maxx arms from RPM come two in a package, so you’ll need four to complete the set. STOCK ARM RPM ARM The RPM arms are slimmer than the stock parts and 3g lighter per upper and lower pair.
Running the X-maxx on 8S is a blast and more fun when you have bulletproof arms, like these from RPM.
