MONAR­CHS All but­ter­fly lovers will want to be at the li­brary on Wed­nes­day, April 20, at 6 p.m. or on Sun­day, April 24, at 2 p.m. to learn from lo­cal res­i­dent Jim Wil­son how to at­tract the beau­ti­ful monarch but­ter­fly. All ages are en­cour­aged to ask ques­tions and learn how to at­tract monar­chs to your yard. What can you plant to feed the cater­pil­lars and but­ter­flies (hint — milk­weed seeds will be pro­vided)?

••• SEWING WITH 4-H You must regis­ter now for in­di­vid­ual classes to learn about the sewing ma­chine and to prac­tice your skills with sim­ple projects. This is for all young­sters in grades 3 to 5, and will take place at the li­brary on Mon­day at 4 p.m. on April 4, 11 and 18. The classes will be pre­sented at the li­brary by the Queen Anne’s County 4-H.


IN APRIL Mother Goose on the Loose will be at the li­brary on April 12, 19 and 26 at 10:30 a.m. for all young­sters 3 to 36 months, with an adult. Join us for nurs­ery rhymes, songs, move­ment, pup­pets and a story.

••• STORY TIME All young peo­ple ages 2 to 5, with an adult, come to the li­brary on Wed­nes­days in April at 10:30 a.m. for sto­ries, songs, rhymes and move­ment, fol­lowed by a craft. This starts on Wed­nes­day, April 12.

••• FREE BOOKS Yes, the li­brary still has a cart-full of free books. Come in and look them over today, and take sev­eral home.
