Sym­phony Vil­lage Out­reach do­nates to Claws for a Cause

CENTREVILLE — The Sym­phony Vil­lage Out­reach Com­mit­tee made a do­na­tion of $1,250 to Univer­sity of Mary­land Me­mo­rial Hospital Foun­da­tion to kick off the fourth an­nual “Claws for a Cause” crab feast set for July 14, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Fish­er­man’s Crab Deck in Gra­sonville. “Claws for a Cause” ben­e­fits the UM Shore Emer­gency Cen­ter at Queen­stown and this year’s pro­ceeds will sup­port the pur­chase of new telemedicine equip­ment.

“Res­i­dents of Sym­phony Vil­lage find it both re­as­sur­ing and grat­i­fy­ing to know that the Emer­gency Cen­ter and its top-notch team of med­i­cal pro­fes­sion­als are here to help us in our time of need,” said Bea Trotta, pres­i­dent of Sym­phony Vil­lage Out­reach Com­mit­tee. “We are proud to be able to help the Emer­gency Cen­ter con­tinue to achieve its goals and we look for­ward to be­ing able to con­tinue our sup­port for such a val­ued fa­cil­ity.”

Sym­phony Vil­lage Out­reach is a non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion that’s mis­sion is to pro­vide fi­nan­cial sup­port to lo­cal so­cial ser­vices within Queen Anne’s County. The funds were raised for Shore Emer­gency Cen­ter at Queen­stown through the group’s 7th an­nual Card and Game Party, where more than 90 par­tic­i­pants gath­ered in sup­port of the Emer­gency Cen­ter.

“We ap­pre­ci­ate this gen­er­ous do­na­tion to help launch our Claws for Cause crab feast and ad­vance the tech­no­log­i­cal so­phis­ti­ca­tion of emer­gency care pro­vided at UM Shore Emer­gency Cen­ter at Queen­stown,” said Gra­ham Lee, vice pres­i­dent for phi­lan­thropy for UM Shore Re­gional Health. “Commu- nity sup­port helps us to con­tinue pro­vid­ing sta­teof-the-art care emer­gency care in the Queen Anne’s county re­gion, both for lo­cal res­i­dents and those pass­ing through.”
