Na­tional Le­gion Aux­il­iary pres­i­dent to visit

QUEEN­STOWN — The na­tional pres­i­dent of the Amer­i­can Le­gion Aux­il­iary will be vis­it­ing Mary­land on Thurs­day and Fri­day, April 28 and 29, in­clud­ing stops in Queen Anne’s County.

Sharon Conatser will be the guest of honor at a 6 p.m. ban­quet on Fri­day, April 29, at the Bene­dict A. An­drew Post 296, 6200 Main St., Queen­stown.

The cost of the din­ner is $18 per per­son and ad­vance reser­va­tions must be made by Mon­day, April 25, by call­ing Nola Wil­lis at 410827-8840. Wil­lis said that hav­ing the na­tional pres­i­dent visit is a sig­nif­i­cant honor.

Conatser will be­gin her Mary­land trip with a visit to Fort McHenry in Bal­ti­more on April 28, fol­lowed by a tour of The Johns Hop­kins Chil­dren’s Cen­ter, also in Bal­ti­more. That evening she will at­tend a 7 p.m. din­ner at Kent­morr Restau­rant, 910 Kent­morr Road, Stevensville.

Be­fore com­ing to Queen Anne’s County on April 29, Conatser will at­tend a nat­u­ral­iza­tion cer­e­mony in Bal­ti­more.

Conatser is from Cham­paign, Ill., and was elected na­tional pres­i­dent of the Amer­i­can Le­gion Aux­il­iary at its 95th na­tional con­ven­tion in Bal­ti­more last year. She is re­tired from the Univer­sity of Illi­nois at Ur­bana-Cham­paign where she served as ad­min­is­tra­tive as­sis­tant for 25 years. She is a life mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Le­gion Aux­il­iary.
