National Legion Auxiliary president to visit
QUEENSTOWN — The national president of the American Legion Auxiliary will be visiting Maryland on Thursday and Friday, April 28 and 29, including stops in Queen Anne’s County.
Sharon Conatser will be the guest of honor at a 6 p.m. banquet on Friday, April 29, at the Benedict A. Andrew Post 296, 6200 Main St., Queenstown.
The cost of the dinner is $18 per person and advance reservations must be made by Monday, April 25, by calling Nola Willis at 410827-8840. Willis said that having the national president visit is a significant honor.
Conatser will begin her Maryland trip with a visit to Fort McHenry in Baltimore on April 28, followed by a tour of The Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, also in Baltimore. That evening she will attend a 7 p.m. dinner at Kentmorr Restaurant, 910 Kentmorr Road, Stevensville.
Before coming to Queen Anne’s County on April 29, Conatser will attend a naturalization ceremony in Baltimore.
Conatser is from Champaign, Ill., and was elected national president of the American Legion Auxiliary at its 95th national convention in Baltimore last year. She is retired from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she served as administrative assistant for 25 years. She is a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
