Help wanted for Women Build Week

DEN­TON — Women in Caro­line and Queen Anne’s coun­ties and sur­round­ing ar­eas are in­vited to help ad­dress the need for af­ford­able hous­ing through­out the com­mu­nity dur­ing Habi­tat for Hu­man­ity’s ninth an­nual Na­tional Women Build Week.

Na­tional Women Build Week, held April 30 through May 7, chal­lenges women to de­vote at least one day to build­ing sim­ple, de­cent and af­ford­able hous­ing in their lo­cal com­mu­ni­ties. More than 62,000 women from all 50 states have vol­un­teered in pre­vi­ous years.

“We are ex­cited to par­tic­i­pate in Na­tional Women Build Week, this year not only in Caro­line County but in Queen Anne’s County also,” said Bill Cle­mens, ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of Tuck­a­hoe Habi­tat. “This is a great op­por­tu­nity for women of all skill lev­els to come to­gether to help a fam­ily in need of bet­ter hous­ing.”
