Mo­saic mu­ral pro­ject planned

CEN­TRE­VILLE — Artist Jen Wag­ner will cre­ate an ex­te­rior mo­saic mu­ral this sum­mer in down­town Cen­tre­ville on the site of Cal­la­han’s Laun­dry, 117 East Wa­ter St. The mu­ral will be 100-square-feet on the side of the build­ing and will kick off with a sum­mer camp hosted by the Queen Anne County Arts Coun­cil.

Par­tic­i­pants will con­trib­ute to the de­sign and learn break­ing, ad­her­ing and grout­ing tech­niques as they cre­ate the mu­ral. The camp will run the week of June 20- June 24. The sec­ond week of camp will be sched­uled June 27- July 1. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost per ses­sion is $225 per child, ages 8 to 15.

Com­mu­nity mem­bers are in­vited to be a part of this com­mu­nity pro­ject and can par­tic­i­pate in a Com­mu­nity Work Day, which will be held Satur­day, June 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in con­junc­tion with the Cen­tre­ville Farm­ers Mar­ket.

Other Com­mu­nity Work Days will be held fro 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Satur­days as needed: July 9, July 16, July 23 and July 30.
