CEN­TRE­VILLE — Nancy Straight died at home on April 13, 2016, in Cen­tre­ville, MD. She was the widow of Lee Straight, who passed away in 2014. She was 88 years old.

She was the child of Clarence and Louise Marsh of Fred­er­ick, MD; she was born in Su­ma­tra where her fa­ther was em­ployed by Goodyear at their rub­ber plan­ta­tion. She, her mother and her two brothers, Clarence and Don­ald, fled just be­fore World War II broke out. She earned a de­gree in English at Oklahoma Univer­sity, lived in New York City, then moved to Akron, OH, where she mar­ried Lee Straight, and moved to Mary­land in 1966.

She ran two busi­nesses in An­napo­lis, raised her four kids, nav­i­gated around the Ch­e­sa­peake, en­joyed read­ing and was a proud mem­ber for over 50 years of P.E.O., a women’s phil­an­thropic ed­u­ca­tional or­ga­ni­za­tion.

In her later years, she loved go­ing to the ex­er­cise pro­grams at Cen­tre­ville’s Curves, where the staff and fel­low cus­tomers treated her so well.

She is sur vived by her chil­dren, Lisa Man­ning and hus­band Ge­orge, grand­chil­dren Lind­say and Tyler Man­ning, and great grand­child Damion Seidel, Greg and wife Denise Straight, Anne Straight, and Jeff Straight.

Funeral ar­range­ments were pri­vate.
