Mary­land Mayflower So­ci­ety to meet

AN­NAPO­LIS — The So­ci­ety of Mayflower De­scen­dants will hold its an­nual spring din­ner meet­ing at noon May 1 at the Hil­ton Dou­bleTree Ho­tel in An­napo­lis.

Mark Croatti, who teaches pol­i­tics at Ge­orge Wash­ing­ton Univer­sity and Amer­i­can gov­ern­ment and for­eign pol­icy re­lated cour­ses at Amer­i­can Univer­sity, the Univer­sity of Mary­land (Col­lege Park and Bal­ti­more cam­puses), and the U. S. Naval Academy, will be the guest speaker. Croatti is the di­rec­tor of The Treaty of Paris Cen­ter in An­napo­lis. He also cov­ers pol­i­tics for An­napo­lis mag­a­zine and is the di­rec­tor of the An­napo­lis Fo­rum.

His talk fea­tures the “pres­i­dents” who came be­fore Ge­orge Wash­ing­ton — the ones who led the na­tion un­der the Ar­ti­cles of Con­fed­er­a­tion and Per­pet­ual Union — and the first sys­tem of “Amer­i­can gov­ern­ment” from 1774 to 1789.
