Warner, Thomas join hospice directors
CENTREVILLE — The board of directors of Compass Regional Hospice recently elected James “Zeke” Warner of Centreville and Julie McMahan Thomas of Easton as board members.
Warner has lived most of his life in Queen Anne’s County, where he graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School. He began working for his father at J.C. Warner Co. Inc. in 1980 while still a student. In 1987, he completed his heating, ventilation and air conditioning technical training with honors. Warner purchased the family business in 2012. The company, which is based in Queenstown, provides HVAC services in Queen Anne’s, Kent, Caroline, Talbot and Anne Arundel counties.
Warner has been a hospice supporter since 2000, when, after the death of his wife, his daughters began attending Camp New Dawn, a grief retreat for children, teens and families.
Thomas is the marketing manager for her family’s business, Tri Gas & Oil Co. Inc. In this role, she implements new promotions and advertising to contribute to the growth of the company. Tri Gas & Oil offers propane gas, oil products and alternative fuels for home, agriculture and industrial uses, and operates locations in Cambridge, Easton, Federalsburg, Galena and Georgetown, Del., with rail facilities in Williamsburg, Md.
A graduate of Towson State University with a bachelor of science degree in psychology, Thomas worked for several years in community mental health in Annapolis and Centreville. She also owned an antique and primitive gift shop in downtown Denton. Thomas has served on the Compass Regional Hospice Gala planning committee for two years.
