KENT IS­LAND — Ma­reen Du­vall Water­man died on April 28, 2016, the 60th an­niver­sary of his mar­riage to Mar­ian Ross­work Water­man, whom he trea­sured above all else. He was 82.

Mr. Water­man was a prom­i­nent lo­cal de­vel­oper, who took great joy in cre­at­ing homes for fam­i­lies in Queen Anne’s and Anne Arun­del coun­ties. He founded Water­man Re­alty on Kent Is­land in 1967 and worked there with his son Barry, daugh­terin-law Diana and grand­son Kevin un­til his death. He was a well-known phi­lan­thropist and sup­ported many lo­cal char­i­ties through­out his life. Mr. Water­man was an avid out­doors­man and en­joyed many won­der­ful ex­pe­ri­ences, with his fam­ily and friends, through­out his life.

In ad­di­tion to Mar­ian and Barry, Mr. Water­man is sur­vived by an­other son, Reen Water­man; and two daugh­ters, Jeanne Lan­caster and Joanna Water­man; eight grand­chil­dren; and 12 great­grand­chil­dren.

A visi­ta­tion will be held on Fri­day, May 6, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Fel­lows, Helfen­bein & New­nam Funeral Home P.A. in Cen­tre­ville. A funeral mass will be held on Satur­day, May 7, 11 a.m. at St. Christo­pher’s Catholic Church in Ch­ester.
