Ch­e­sa­peake Char­i­ties calls for nom­i­na­tions

STEVENSVILLE — Ch­e­sa­peake Char­i­ties is call­ing for nom­i­na­tions for Phi­lan­thropist, Non­profit and Vol­un­teer of the Year to be pre­sented at its Novem­ber 2016 Cel­e­bra­tion of Char­ity lun­cheon. Gov. Larry Ho­gan will also be hon­ored at the lun­cheon for his courage and lead­er­ship in the face of ad­ver­sity. The dead­line to sub­mit nom­i­na­tions May 31.

Nom­i­na­tions are re­quested from the com­mu­nityat-large for the fol­low­ing pres­ti­gious awards: is

Phi­lan­thropist of the Year will rec­og­nize an in­di­vid­ual or or­ga­ni­za­tion who has demon­strated out­stand­ing gen­eros­ity and com­mu­nity lead­er­ship.

Vol­un­teer of the Year will honor one who has gone above and be­yond in ful­fill­ing their ser vice role.

Non­profit of the Year will be pre­sented to an or­ga­ni­za­tion that has con­sis­tently pro­vided com­mu­ni­ties and fam­i­lies with vi­tal sup­port sys­tems.

Award re­cip­i­ents will be rec­og­nized at the early Novem­ber lun­cheon to be held at Ch­e­sa­peake Bay Beach Club. Nom­i­na­tion forms can be ob­tained on­line at chesa­peakechar­i­­nect/forms-ap­pli­ca­tions or by call­ing Ch­e­sa­peake Char­i­ties’ of­fice at 410-643-4020. The nom­i­na­tion dead­line is 5 p.m. Tues­day, May 31.

Ch­e­sa­peake Char­i­ties is a com­mu­nity foun­da­tion that sup­ports a wide range of char­i­ta­ble causes in­clud­ing ed­u­ca­tion, health and hu­man ser­vices, an­i­mal wel­fare, and the en­vi­ron­ment. All of its 75 funds have a com­mon cause — a pas­sion for mak­ing a dif­fer­ence in their com­mu­ni­ties. To­gether they have in­vested more than $8 mil­lion in the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay re­gion since 2005.
