Centreville Ro­tary seeks ar­ti­sans for an­nual fes­ti­val

CENTREVILLE — Ar­ti­sans and crafters with orig­i­nal work for sale are be­ing sought for the 45th an­nual Ar­ti­sans Fes­ti­val spon­sored by the Centreville Ro­tar y Club to be held on Satur­day, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sun­day, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Queen Anne’s County 4-H Park. The park is lo­cated on Route 18, four miles west of Centreville.

More than 70 artists from through­out the Del­marva Penin­sula will exhibit a wide range of tal­ents and trea­sures. In­cluded in the orig­i­nal of­fer­ings are paint­ings, pot­tery, bas­ketry, stained glass, wood carv­ing, jew­elry, pho­tog­ra­phy and more.

A slid­ing scale for 10x10 spa­ces is be­ing used: $95 in­side build­ing, $85 out­side un­der pav­il­ion, and $70 out­side no cover. All spa­ces are avail­able on a first-come, first­served ba­sis. Space is also avail­able for food ven­dors and non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tions.

Ad­mis­sion is free, but do­na­tions at the gate are wel­comed. Pro­ceeds sup­port lo­cal youth schol­ar­ships, op­er­a­tion of the re­gional shel­ter for vic­tims of do­mes­tic vi­o­lence, par­tic­i­pa­tion in the Ro­tary world­wide pro­ject to erad­i­cate po­lio and Life­time Wells for Ghana, a clean water pro­ject in Africa.
