Q. Is noon writ­ten as 12 a.m. or 12 p.m.

A. Nei­ther is cor­rect. The Li­brary went on the In­ter­net to find that the ab­brievi­aions stand for “post merid­ian” (af­ter noon) and “ante merid­ian” (be­fore noon). You should write 12 mid­day or 12 noon, or sim­ply re­fer to “noon.” CLOSED MON­DAY Both li­braries in Centreville and Kent Is­land will be closed all day Mon­day in honor of Me­mo­rial Day. Both will open at 9 a.m. May 31 for a full day. AF­TER­NOON BOOK

FOR KIDS Be sure to pick up a copy of the Sum­mer Read­ing Pro­gram for young peo­ple at the Li­brary. It is ti­tled “On Your Mark, Get Set ... Read!” There will be all sorts of pro­grams for all ages. SUM­MER­TIME YOGA We will have yoga at the Centreville Branch Wed­nes­days in June be­gin­ning on June 8 and run­ning through June 29. Each ses­sion be­gins at 5:30 p.m. in the Li­brary meet­ing room. Reg­is­tra­tion is re­quired as space is lim­ited and classes are free.
