Stevensville set to host art celebration
STEVENSVILLE — The Historic Stevensville Arts and Entertainment District announces the third event in the First Saturdays Program for Stevensville. Paint Stevensville! Plein Air Art Celebration and Chalk Walk will be held June 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature several family fun and entertaining events including plein air artists creating new works of art, the Chalk Walk open to artists of all ages and abilities, and a Wet Paint Sale.
Plein Air Art Celebration is presented by the Kent Island Federation of Arts. Plein Air is a phrase borrowed from the French meaning “open (in full) air“. Artists will be painting throughout downtown Stevensville and creating new works of art in a town that is full of history and inspiration. Stroll throughout town and meet artists and have a chance to purchase their works at the Wet Paint Sale and Reception to be held at 5 p.m. in front of Rustico’s Restaurant.
The Chalk Walk in Stevensville will be begin at noon and end at 3 p.m. Artists will be on hand to help kids create their own open air chalk creations on the sidewalks in downtown Stevensville. This event is free and open to the public, all ages and artistic ability. The Chalk Walk theme is Island Living. My Little Studio will be assisting participants throughout the day with supplies and tips.
