Stevensville set to host art cel­e­bra­tion

STEVENSVILLE — The His­toric Stevensville Arts and En­ter­tain­ment District an­nounces the third event in the First Saturdays Pro­gram for Stevensville. Paint Stevensville! Plein Air Art Cel­e­bra­tion and Chalk Walk will be held June 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will fea­ture sev­eral family fun and en­ter­tain­ing events in­clud­ing plein air artists cre­at­ing new works of art, the Chalk Walk open to artists of all ages and abil­i­ties, and a Wet Paint Sale.

Plein Air Art Cel­e­bra­tion is pre­sented by the Kent Is­land Fed­er­a­tion of Arts. Plein Air is a phrase bor­rowed from the French mean­ing “open (in full) air“. Artists will be paint­ing through­out down­town Stevensville and cre­at­ing new works of art in a town that is full of his­tory and in­spi­ra­tion. Stroll through­out town and meet artists and have a chance to pur­chase their works at the Wet Paint Sale and Re­cep­tion to be held at 5 p.m. in front of Rus­tico’s Restau­rant.

The Chalk Walk in Stevensville will be be­gin at noon and end at 3 p.m. Artists will be on hand to help kids cre­ate their own open air chalk cre­ations on the side­walks in down­town Stevensville. This event is free and open to the pub­lic, all ages and artis­tic abil­ity. The Chalk Walk theme is Is­land Liv­ing. My Lit­tle Stu­dio will be as­sist­ing par­tic­i­pants through­out the day with sup­plies and tips.
