Two deputy fire mar­shals grad­u­ate

LA PLATA — In a grad­u­a­tion cer­e­mony held at the La Plata High School on Fri­day, June 3, at 6 p.m., two new deputies be­gan their ca­reers as deputy state fire mar­shals.

Deputy State Fire Mar­shals Brad Chil­dress and John Grothe were pre­sented with their diplo­mas by State Fire Mar­shal Brian S. Geraci and have been as­signed to their re­spec­tive re­gions to con­tinue their spe­cial­ized train­ing in­volv­ing fire in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

DSFM Brad Chil­dress has been as­signed to the Up­per Eastern Re­gional Of­fice based in Eas­ton, and DSFM John Grothe has been as­signed to the South­ern Re­gional Of­fice based in Prince Fred­er­ick.

Chil­dress also is a vol­un­teer fire­fighter and EMT with United Com­mu­ni­ties Volun- teer Fire De­part­ment.


Brad Chil­dress is the Up­per Eastern Shore’s new­est deputy state fire mar­shal.
