Seidel named Sudlersville Elementary principal
SUDLERSVILLE — The Queen Anne’s County Board of Education announces the appointment of Kimberly Seidel as principal of Sudlersville Elementary School effective July 1. Seidel’s career in Queen Anne’s County Public Schools began in 1993 as a kindergarten teacher.
Siedel also taught second grade, served as a special education teacher and an early intervention specialist prior to taking a position in 2002 as Teacher Specialist at Centreville Elementary School. There she provided supports to teachers with daily and long-range planning, selecting appropriate leveled literacy materials, and providing instructional support to classroom teachers.
She analyzed and compiled school reading and math data to drive instruction, as well as assisted the principal with the school budget and ordering materials needed to support school-wide programs.
Additionally, Seidel coordinated the county-wide scoring for the Mid-Year Assessments for grades 1, 2 and 3 and trained teachers to administer the MidYear Assessment.
Following her years here in Queen Anne’s County, Seidel served successfully as principal and assistant principal in Prince Georges County Schools from 2004 to 2016.
Seidel received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts degree in Special Educational from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Seidel resides in Chester and said she is excited to return to QACPS.
