Sei­del named Sudlersville El­e­men­tary prin­ci­pal

SUDLERSVILLE — The Queen Anne’s County Board of Ed­u­ca­tion an­nounces the ap­point­ment of Kimberly Sei­del as prin­ci­pal of Sudlersville El­e­men­tary School ef­fec­tive July 1. Sei­del’s ca­reer in Queen Anne’s County Pub­lic Schools be­gan in 1993 as a kinder­garten teacher.

Siedel also taught sec­ond grade, served as a spe­cial ed­u­ca­tion teacher and an early in­ter­ven­tion spe­cial­ist prior to tak­ing a po­si­tion in 2002 as Teacher Spe­cial­ist at Centreville El­e­men­tary School. There she pro­vided sup­ports to teach­ers with daily and long-range plan­ning, se­lect­ing ap­pro­pri­ate lev­eled lit­er­acy ma­te­ri­als, and pro­vid­ing in­struc­tional sup­port to class­room teach­ers.

She an­a­lyzed and compiled school read­ing and math data to drive in­struc­tion, as well as as­sisted the prin­ci­pal with the school bud­get and or­der­ing ma­te­ri­als needed to sup­port school-wide pro­grams.

Ad­di­tion­ally, Sei­del co­or­di­nated the county-wide scor­ing for the Mid-Year As­sess­ments for grades 1, 2 and 3 and trained teach­ers to ad­min­is­ter the MidYear As­sess­ment.

Fol­low­ing her years here in Queen Anne’s County, Sei­del served suc­cess­fully as prin­ci­pal and as­sis­tant prin­ci­pal in Prince Ge­orges County Schools from 2004 to 2016.

Sei­del re­ceived her Bach­e­lor of Science de­gree in El­e­men­tary Ed­u­ca­tion and a Mas­ter of Arts de­gree in Spe­cial Ed­u­ca­tional from Slip­pery Rock Uni­ver­sity of Penn­syl­va­nia. Sei­del re­sides in Ch­ester and said she is ex­cited to re­turn to QACPS.
