Goodwill ambulance fund drive underway
CENTREVILLE — Goodwill Fire Company’s EMS Division is seeking the public’s support for its ambulance fund drive. Funds collected go to help keep two ambulances maintained, stocked and ready to handle medical emergencies as needed.
Last year, the department ran 1,310 ambulance calls — averaging over three calls a day.
Goodwill has hired personnel to staff the ambulances seven days a week, 17 hours a day from 7 a.m. to midnight. The other hours are covered by dedicated volunteers.
By donating at least $50 to the ambulance drive, a person becomes an ambulance fund member and will not be billed any amount over what their insurance company pays. The ambulance fund year runs from July 1, 2016, to July 1, 2017. The discount only applies to Goodwill ambulances, not countyowned ambulances.
As always, new volunteers are welcome. Anyone interested in volunteering can call 410758-1422. Someone will be in touch.
