ROCK HALL — Anne E. Bur­ris, of Rock Hall, for­merly of Kennedyville, died at Rock of Ages As­sisted Liv­ing on June 16, 2016. She was 88.

Born in Kent County, she was the daugh­ter of the late John and Mar­ian Bur­ris.

Ms. Bur­ris was a re­tired cor­po­rate sec­re­tary and ex­ec­u­tive as­sis­tant at Kop­per’s Man­u­fac­tur­ing Corp.

She was a 1948 grad­u­ate of Wash­ing­ton Col­lege. In her re­tire­ment, she had served on the Alumni Coun­cil and the Pres­i­dent’s Cir­cle and was hon­ored with the Dis­tin­guished Alumni Ser­vice Award in 1997.

Ms. Bur­ris was also a mem­ber of the Kent County His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety and a mem­ber of the Kent County Questors, and was very fond of the Kent County Hu­mane So­ci­ety.

Ms. Bur­ris loved to travel the world, en­joy­ing the cul­tural dif­fer­ences that make up hu­man­ity.

She is sur­vived by nu­mer­ous cousins and dear friends.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held on Satur­day, June 25, 2016, at 10 a.m. at the Fel­lows, Helfen­bein & New­nam Fu­neral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where friends and fam­ily are in­vited to call af­ter 9 a.m. Pri­vate in­ter­ment will be held in New York.

In lieu of flow­ers, con­tri­bu­tions may be made in her mem­ory to the Kent County Hu­mane So­ci­ety, P.O. Box 352, Chestertown, MD 21620.
