CENTREVILLE — Centreville Police Department is crediting Northbrook residents for the arrest of a man who led them on a brief chase Tuesday, June 14.

Officer Dennis Lannon attempted to stop a speeding Ford about 2:26 p.m. in the vicinity of Church Hill Road and Elm Street, but the driver didn’t stop, police said. A short pursuit ensued, ending at a residence in Northbrook.

The driver and a juvenile passenger ran from the vehicle, police said. Additional Centreville PD units and deputies from the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to help with the search. They captured the juvenile who identified the driver as Austin Dale Wilson, 26, of Church Hill, police said.

Police received numerous calls and tips from neighborhood residents that led to the location and arrest of Wilson, according to Lt. Kenneth Rhodes of Centreville Police.

Wilson faces charges of disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, attempting to elude the police, negligent driving, reckless driving and additional traffic charges.

He was arrested June 14, posted $5,000 bond and was released that same day. A court date of July 25 has been set on the criminal charges.
