CENTREVILLE — Joshua Freeman is a senior broadcast journalism student at Morgan State University in Baltimore. This summer he is helping out at The Record Observer newspaper as a volunteer community correspondent.
After graduation, he hopes to have a career in sports journalism and also to fulfill his dream of becoming an NBA head coach.
Freeman currently resides in his hometown of Sudlersville with his grandmother, Marian Kennedy.
He is a graduate of the 2013 class at Queen Anne’s County High School. While at Queen Anne’s, Freeman was a standout sprinter on the track and field team, earning All Mid-Shore honors, national elite status in the 55m, and winning the 2A state championship as a part of the 800m relay team in 2012.
After graduating from Queen Anne’s, he enrolled at Morgan State to major in political science, but later switched to broadcast journalism because of his interest in sports writing. He immediately became involved in school activities his freshman year, serving in Student Government as freshman class treasurer.
