Green Room Gang to perform at Church Hill Theatre
CHURCH HILL — Talented local youngsters promise to entertain audiences of all ages in performances of Disney’s “The Jungle Book, Kids” and “Bugsy Malone, Jr.” at Church Hill Theatre from Thursday, July 21, through Sunday, July 24.
Disney’s “The Jungle Book, Kids” is adapted for children from the classic Disney Film. “Bugsy Malone, Jr.,” based on a 1976 movie favorite starring Scott Baio and Jodi Foster, is a rollicking spoof of 1920s gangster films with music by the composer of “The Muppet Movie.”
Becca Van Aken directs younger performers in Disney’s “The Jungle Book, Kids,” and Liz Clarke directs the middle and high schoolers in “Bugsy Malone, Jr.”
Interns Shannon Whitaker and Iz Clemens will assist the directors and Nina Sharp, previous GRG instructor and executive manager of CHT, provides overall technical support. Many parents and other volunteers helped with costumes, sets and props.
Because last year’s shows were sold out, Church Hill Theatre has added a fourth 2016 performance. Shows will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 21, and Friday, July 22. There will be matinee performances at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students; only cash or check will be accepted for this production.
Reservations can be made by calling the box office at 410-5566033.
