Farm Bureau an­nounces lead­er­ship pro­gram

DAVIDSONVILLE — The Mary­land Farm Bureau an­nounced a new lead­er­ship pro­gram, Grow­ing Our Agri­cul­ture Lead­ers, aimed at re­cruit­ing and train­ing fu­ture county Farm Bureau lead­ers.

Among the 2016 par­tic­i­pants, Jay Douthit rep­re­sents Kent County and Alan Eck rep­re­sents Queen Anne’s County.

“Meet­ing and net­work­ing with other agri­cul­ture lead­ers across the state and na­tion is of­ten cited as one fac­tor that led cur­rent Farm Bureau lead­ers to their po­si­tions,” said Chuck Fry, pres­i­dent of Mary­land Farm Bureau.

The group toured the East­ern Shore June 14 and 15, meet­ing with Farm Bureau lead­ers and ex­plor­ing lo­cal poul­try, pro­duce, wine pro­duc­tion, oys­ter farm­ing and agri­cul­tural re­search.
