SUDLERSVILLE — In lov­ing Mem­ory of Wil­liam Aubrey Clough Sr., 75, who died on 19 July 2016 at his home in Sudlersville, MD, af­ter a long ill­ness. He went peace­fully sur­rounded by loved ones.

Wil­liam was born on 18 Novem­ber 1940 in Ridgely, MD. He was the mid­dle child of six chil­dren to Ruth and Casper Clough, whom are both de­ceased. Wil­liam lived on the East­ern Shore his en­tire life. Wil­liam had two chil­dren whom he cher­ished. In 1987, Wil­liam mar­ried Karen M. Clough, who was the love of his life. They cre­ated many mem­o­ries of rais­ing a blended fam­ily to­gether and en­joyed trav­el­ing to mul­ti­ple va­ca­tion spots with fam­ily and friends. Wil­liam en­joyed out­door recre­ations; he was an avid hunter and liked to fish. He en­joyed bowl­ing and liked to watch the sport of golf and western movies. Wil­liam worked at Chop­tank Elec­tric Com­pany his en­tire adult life and re­tired in 1998 af­ter many years of ser­vice.

Wil­liam is sur­vived by his wife, Karen; his son, Wil­liam A. Clough Jr. and his wife Mil­lie; his stepchil­dren, Richard A. Reedy Jr. and his wife Crys­tal Reedy; Ka­t­rina H. Gestole and her hus­band Michael Gestole; and Diana L. Rollins and her hus­band Jesse W. Rollins. He is fur­ther sur­vived by his brother Charles and wife Libby Clough, brother David Clough, and sis­ter Doris Chandler. Wil­liam is the grand­fa­ther to 11 grand­chil­dren and one great­grand­daugh­ter.

Wil­liam is pre­ceded in death by his daugh­ter, Robin Michelle Clough, who was the light of his life and will for­ever be his guardian an­gel. He is fur­ther pre­ceded in death by his sis­ter, Eloise Clough and brother Robert Clough.

A pri­vate prayer ser­vice will be held with the im­me­di­ate fam­ily. The fam­ily wishes to ex­tend our sin­cere thanks to the Com­pass Re­gional Hospice staff, Christina, Krys­tle and Chap­lain Nancy, who pro­vided com­fort­ing care.
