WC-ALL SHOW­CASE com­ing mid-Au­gust

CHESTERTOWN — The Wash­ing­ton Col­lege Academy of Life­long Learn­ing, a con­tin­u­ing ed­u­ca­tion pro­gram, an­nounces Show­case, sched­uled for 4 p.m. Aug. 15 in the Hotchkiss Recital Hall of the Gib­son Cen­ter for the Arts on the Wash­ing­ton Col­lege cam­pus.

In­struc­tors for the WC-ALL fall semester will de­scribe their cour­ses. Af­ter­ward, com­mu­nity mem­bers will have an op­por­tu­nity to talk with them and with WC-ALL mem­bers over re­fresh­ments.

The fall semester is di­vided into two six-week ses­sions, Sept. 6 to Oct. 14 and Oct. 23 to Dec. 9. With a few ex­cep­tions, classes are held on cam­pus in the af­ter­noon, 4:15 p.m.-5:30 p.m..

Each semester, about 350 peo­ple join WC-ALL. Mem­bers may reg­is­ter for as many cour­ses as they wish for one in­clu­sive mem­ber­ship fee. There is no age or ed­u­ca­tional re­quire­ment. Cour­ses are taught by com­mu­nity mem­bers with in­ter­est­ing life ex­pe­ri­ences and ex­per­tise in a wide va­ri­ety of fields.

WC-ALL also hosts a se­ries of Learn-at-Lunches through­out the year, open to mem­ber and non-mem­bers, and spe­cial event field trips.
