KI grads featured in showcase
ANNAPOLIS — Voix Vocal Studio of Annapolis presents “College Bound Cabaret” on Friday, Aug. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Studio 39 at Broadneck High School, 291 Locust Avenue in Annapolis.
The event features Kent Island High School graduates Lily Spik and Robert Branning performing classical, musical theater and popular repertoire. The two performers are part of a quartet showcasing their talents as they embark on their collegiate journey in the performing arts.
Lily Spik is a 2016 graduate and was the lead performer in musical theater in her four years at Kent Island High. She portrayed Rosie in “Bye, Bye Birdie,” Belle in “Beauty and the Beast” and Christine in “Phantom of the Opera” in her senior year. Lily was honored as an All-Shore choir member for eight years, was a frequent soloist for the Kent Island High Concert Choir and has performed locally at sporting and community events. She will be attending the Vocal Conservatory at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts.
Robert Branning is a 2015 graduate and participated in theater on stage and behind the scenes in his tenure at Kent Island High. Robert will complete his degree at Chesapeake College next spring and is planning to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a major in Voice Performance. Robert has been active in musical theater while at Chesapeake and was in several regional theater performances, including “Jesus Christ Superstar” at the Kensington Arts Theatre and “Fiddler on the Roof” at the Church Hill Theatre.
