CH­ESTER­TOWN — Edith Carol Quillen Perkins of Ch­ester­town died Wed­nes­day, March 30, 2016, at Safe Haven Manor, Sudlersville. She was 83.

She was born on Sept. 21, 1932, a daugh­ter of the late Reverdy Lewis Quillen and his se­cond wife, Olive Rebecca Skinner Quillen.

She is sur­vived by her six chil­dren, Michael Ford, Steven Ford, Karol Jean “Suzy” Ford, Larry Ford, Brid­get/Bill Rahr and Bar­bara/Terry Wil­liams. One son, “Teddy,” passed away in 1958, and one grand­son, Jonathan Clough, passed away in 2013.

She is also sur­vived by her first hus­band, Lawrence Theodore Ford, whom she mar­ried in 1952, as well as her grand­chil­dren, great grand­chil­dren, nieces, neph­ews and many other rel­a­tives.

Carol was pre­ceded in death by her se­cond hus­band, Charles H. Perkins, in 1993, pre­vi­ously of Water­bury, Conn., whom she mar­ried in 1981.

She is sur­vived by one sis­ter, Mil­dred Jean Woess­ner, of Green­wood, Ind., and many grand­chil­dren, great grand­chil­dren and other rel­a­tives.

Carol grew up in Centreville and grad­u­ated from Centreville High School, Class of 1951. She had been a po­lice com­mu­ni­ca­tions op­er­a­tor at the Mary­land State Po­lice Bar­rack in Centreville for many years.

Carol do­nated her body to Anatomy Gifts Reg­istry.

She will be sorely missed and never for­got­ten by those she touched in this world.
