CHESTERTOWN — Edith Carol Quillen Perkins of Chestertown died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Safe Haven Manor, Sudlersville. She was 83.
She was born on Sept. 21, 1932, a daughter of the late Reverdy Lewis Quillen and his second wife, Olive Rebecca Skinner Quillen.
She is survived by her six children, Michael Ford, Steven Ford, Karol Jean “Suzy” Ford, Larry Ford, Bridget/Bill Rahr and Barbara/Terry Williams. One son, “Teddy,” passed away in 1958, and one grandson, Jonathan Clough, passed away in 2013.
She is also survived by her first husband, Lawrence Theodore Ford, whom she married in 1952, as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
Carol was preceded in death by her second husband, Charles H. Perkins, in 1993, previously of Waterbury, Conn., whom she married in 1981.
She is survived by one sister, Mildred Jean Woessner, of Greenwood, Ind., and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.
Carol grew up in Centreville and graduated from Centreville High School, Class of 1951. She had been a police communications operator at the Maryland State Police Barrack in Centreville for many years.
Carol donated her body to Anatomy Gifts Registry.
She will be sorely missed and never forgotten by those she touched in this world.
