Friends of Li­brary to hold adult spell­ing bee

CENTREVILLE — The Friend’s of the Queen Anne’s County Li­brary will be spon­sor­ing an adult spell­ing bee to be held at the Wye River Up­per School in Centreville on Oct. 20.

The event will run from 7 to 9:30 p.m., with a so­cial hour to be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m.

Are you a re­ally good speller, a stick­ler for proper sell­ing or sim­ply an al­pha­bet en­thu­si­ast? You can help the Friends raise funds for the li­brary by form­ing a team with your bright­est and best friends, fam­ily and co­work­ers. Teams must be made up of three in­di­vid­u­als at least 18 years of age, and cos­tumes and team names are en­cour­aged.

The reg­is­tra­tion fee for each team will be $200; while the bee watch­ers or spec­ta­tors will be ad­mit­ted free. There will be treats and bev­er­ages avail­able for pur­chase.
