CEN­TRE­VILLE — Ed­ward Joseph Fal­cey III passed away July 6, 2016, at Chris­tiana Care Hospi­tal in Delaware, with his chil­dren by his side and sur­rounded by the love and sup­port of his fam­ily; he was 67 years old. Born July 25, 1948, son of Ella Marie Melvin and Ed­ward Joseph Fal­cey Jr., Ed, known to his fam­ily as “Butch” and af fec­tion­ately as “Frog” by his friends, lived life to the fullest.

He served as a com­mu­ni­ca­tion spe­cial­ist for the U.S. Army and fought in the Viet­nam War in 1968 and 1969. Ed man­aged var­i­ous car deal­er­ships, ship­yards, and es­tates through­out his ca­reer. In life, Ed en­cour­aged find­ing passion and his was mu­sic. This love of mu­sic was con­ta­gious, al­ways in­tro­duc­ing the new mu­sic to those around him.

His par­ents, grand­par­ents, and his step­fa­ther Nor­man D. Mered­ith Sr. pre­ceded him in death. He is sur­vived by son Skyr Grant Fal­cey and daugh­ter Ka­tia Bree Cal­lan, their mother Jan Lei­bolt Fal­cey, son-in-law Jesse, grand­chil­dren Flynn and Harper Cal­lan; his sib­lings: Mary Jane (Ed­ward) Lock­wood, Norma (Daniel) Boone, Tina (Johnny) Cox, Sue (Brian) Zur­van­sky, Nel­lie Cockey, Kathy (Ge­orge) Dana, and Jackie Mered­ith; as well as many dear fam­ily and friends who meant the world to him.

A pri­vate cel­e­bra­tion of life will be held for fam­ily and friends at Con­quest Beach.
