Compass Regional Hospice names volunteer of the month
CENTREVILLE — Julia D’Ambrosio, of Centreville, is a familiar face around Camp New Dawn and the administrative offices of Compass Regional Hospice. She was named as the most recent hospice volunteer of the month.
“She was nominated for exemplifying the core values we look for in a volunteer, treating every job with professionalism, energy and a spirit of open-mindedness,” said Courtney Williams, manager of volunteer and professional services.
D’Ambrosio is known for taking on detailed and even down and dirty tasks to help the organization prepare for programs and events. A recent graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School, she also advocated for CRH through philanthropy at the school.“I really enjoy helping the staff at Compass Regional Hospice in any way I can because I know that the little things I do allows them to spend more time taking care of the patients at hospice and their families,” D’Ambrosio said.
“My grandmother always stressed to me how important it was to serve others, and she was very involved in the hospice where she lived. After she passed away, I knew that hospice was the organization I wanted to give back to, and it has been so rewarding.”
