Residents reminded to lock their cars
SUDLERSVILLE — Maryland State Police are investigating a rash of burglaries in the Sudlersville area over Labor Day weekend and are reminding residents to lock their doors.
Police received reports of thefts of money and small electronic items overnight from unlocked vehicles parked in driveways of residences from Sudlersville to Barclay, according to Sgt. James Blackwell of the Centreville Barracks.
Two pickup trucks also were stolen overnight Sept. 4-5. In both missing truck cases, keys were left in the trucks and the doors unlocked, police said.
The trucks have since been recovered, Blackwell said.
Residents need to lock their cars and take their keys into the house, Blackwell said. Never leave the keys in the vehicle.
Police also suggest removing all valuables from vehicles, or hiding them so they can’t easily be seen by someone looking through the windows.
Anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the area or who has information on the thefts is asked to call 410758-1101.
