Writers association hosts Sept. 17 meeting
STEVENSVILLE — The Eastern Shore Writers Association will host a meeting from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Queen Anne’s County Library, Kent Island Branch, 200 Library Circle, Stevensville. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Every author, whether traditionally or self-published, wants sell their books. ESWA members Kenton Kilgore and Sharon Brubaker will share what works for them. Kilgore will talk about the “hand selling” techniques he has developed, and Brubaker will share why she goes to book fairs and festivals, and what works and what does not. She also will discuss tips about how she gets the word out about her books.
Kilgore writes young adult sciencefiction/fantasy. He is the author of “Dragontamer’s Daughter,” “Lost Dogs,” and the children’s book, “Our Wild Place.”
Brubaker is a nationally award-winning librarian, the author of several educational publications and a romantic suspense trilogy, the “Green Man” series.
The Eastern Shore Writers Association, founded in 1985, is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization supporting writers and literary arts across the Delmarva Peninsula and the Eastern Shore. One of the benefits of membership is networking with writing peers at informal, informational meetings. Nonmembers are welcome to attend.
