The Tour­na­ment of Bands was founded in 1 by the 1ational -udges $sso­ci­a­tion www.nMa­tob.org and cur­rently has 4 mem­ber bands. Origi nally founded in 1 0 the 1ational -udges $sso­ci­a­tion 1-$ is the pri­mary provider of adMu­di­ca­tion ser­vices and is the par­ent group of the TOB. Through­out the year TOB pro­vides a large ar­ray of com­pet­i­tive per­for­mance op­por­tu­ni­ties in­clud­ing march­ing band per­cus­sion in­door guard maMorette and dance teams. TOB sanc­tions ap­prox­i­mately 140 field band events as well as about 100 in­door events an­nu­ally. )or each com­pe­ti­tion Mudges pro vide the bands with feed­bacN on their per­for­mance that is a crit­i­cal el­e­ment to the growth and im­prove­ment process of each band. ,n the fall the Tour­na­ment of Bands pro­vides a com­pet­i­tive arena for march ing bands. Hun­dreds of march­ing bands com­pete in “field” shows from 6eptem­ber through 1ovem­ber. The TOB $ll 6tar 0arch­ing Band rep­re­sents the as­so­ci­a­tion an­nu­ally in the 3hiladel­phia ThanNs­giv­ing 'ay 3arade. The 1ational -udges $sso­ci­a­tion was founded for the ad­vance­ment and ed­u­ca­tion of its mem­ber­ship in adMu­di­ca­tion of all pageantry ori­ented events and to pro­mote the ad­vance­ment of pageantry ori­ented arts for youth in both scholas­tic and in­de­pen­dent en­deav­ors. 0em­ber school se­niors can ap­ply for col­lege schol­ar­ships that are pro­vided each year.
