Har­ris to host ser­vice acad­emy fo­rum

WYE MILLS — Con­gress­man Andy Har­ris, R-Md.-1st, re­cently an­nounced his district of­fices are host­ing a Ser­vice Acad­emy Re­source Fo­rum for stu­dents in Mary­land’s First District.

The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wed­nes­day, Oct. 12, at Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege’s Todd Per­form­ing Arts Cen­ter, 1000 Col­lege Cir­cle, Wye Mills. All high school and eighth­grade stu­dents, along with their par­ents, who are in­ter­ested in at­tend­ing a ser­vice acad­emy, are in­vited to at­tend the fo­rum.

Har­ris has in­vited rep­re­sen­ta­tives from West Point, Air Force, Coast Guard, Mer­chant Marine and Naval Acad­e­mies to at­tend. His staff also will ex­plain the ap­point­ment process. This is an op­por­tu­nity for high school stu­dents to ex­plore dif­fer­ent higher ed­u­ca­tion choices.
