CENTREVILLE — The Queen Anne’s County Arts Council is offering a sculpting class for beginners. This is an introduction to 3D art by sculpting papier mache. Each student will complete projects with wooden armatures and face molds. Round objects, paint, and decorative materials will enhance the end result.

The class will be taught by instructor Theresa Schram. Schram has been a working artist for 20 years and a teacher for 13 years. Her work has been described as bold and exciting, and is characterized by striking images, intense colors, and an interest in design. For those who have always wanted to learn to sculpt, but aren’t ready for the step to stone or clay, this class in sculpting paper is a good place to practice the art.

The cost is $50 for members and $55 for non-members and will be held Sept. 28 and 30 and Oct. 5 and 7 from 10 a.m. to noon. Materials include wooden armatures and molds.
