QUEEN­STOWN — Louise A. Pin­der of Queen­stown, MD, passed away on Septem­ber 21, 2016 at her home sur­rounded by her fam­ily. She was 89. Born on Feb. 3, 1927, in Cam­bridge, MD, the daugh­ter of the late John and Lil­lian Ru­ark Thomas, she grew up in Cam­bridge and at­tended school there. On Feb. 21, 1948, Louise mar­ried C. Irv­ing Pin­der and they moved to Queen­stown where Louise was a home­maker.

Louise was a very ac­tive mem­ber of the Cal­vary United Methodist Church. She was a Sun­day school su­per­in­ten­dent and teacher, a mem­ber of the choir, pres­i­dent of the United Methodist Women’s So­ci­ety, Lay leader, and chair­man of the out­reach pro­gram for church. Louise was also care­giver to all of her grand­chil­dren and some of her great grand­chil­dren.

In ad­di­tion to her hus­band of 68 years, C. Irv­ing Pin­der, Louise is sur­vived by her chil­dren: Irene Stiller (Bob) of Queen­stown; C. Irv­ing Pin­der Jr., (Sandy) of Cen­tre­ville; Bon­nie McCaslian (Char­lie) of Tay­lors Is­land; Terry Cox (Les) of Queen­stown; eight grand­chil­dren; and six great-grand­chil­dren. She was pre­de­ceased by four broth­ers and one sis­ter.

Ser­vices will be held on Mon­day, Septem­ber 26, 1 p.m. at Cal­vary United Methodist Church in Queen­stown, MD, where friends and fam­ily may visit be­gin­ning at noon. In­ter­ment will be at Wood­lawn Me­mo­rial Park.
