Grasonville woman struck by car
GRASONVILLE — A Grasonville woman was struck by a car as she was walking her dog on Prospect Bay Drive West about 8 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22.
According to the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office, Susan Brady, 65, of Grasonville said she was looking down while driving when her Volkswagen passenger car struck something. Brady told police she initially thought she had hit a mailbox, but upon stopping, she discovered she had hit a person, police said.
The pedestrian, who police identified as Diane M. Gonzalez, 50, was flown by helicopter to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of her injuries.
She remains at the hospital, where she was listed in fair condition Tuesday, Sept. 27, said Karen Lancaster, hospital spokesman.
Deputies on the scene said the dog did not appear to be injured.
The investigation is continuing.
