HENDERSON — Wayne Lester Hardy of Henderson, MD, died sud­denly on Thurs­day, Septem­ber 29, 2016. He was 74.

Born in Bal­ti­more on Oct. 5, 1941, he was the only son of the late Lester and Myrtle Hardy.

Mr. Hardy en­joyed a full life which be­gan in Bal­ti­more, un­til his move to the Eastern Shore in 1977. He worked in res­i­den­tial con­struc­tion in his busi­ness Way­mar Con­struc­tion and later with Crys­tal Custom Homes, Ltd. and loved work­ing. He en­joyed rid­ing mo­tor­cy­cles, deer hunt­ing, and cher­ished all the memories made with his cousins, sons and friends.

He was known for his love of sto­ry­telling, of­ten of­fer­ing ad­vice to the younger gen­er­a­tion about hard work and ded­i­ca­tion. Many that knew him un­der­stood the value of his sto­ries and re­al­ized he shared a piece of him­self with ev­ery story told.

Wayne was pre­ceded in death by his lov­ing wife of 54 years, Mar­garet (Bidinger) Hardy; his sons: Ken­neth L Hardy, his wife Ab­bie Hardy of Queen Anne; and Dale W. Hardy, his wife Karen K. Hardy of Henderson. He had six grand­chil­dren: Crys­tal (Hardy) Telle, Tif­fany (Hardy) Sam­ick, Re­bekah Hardy, Nathan Hardy, Charles Whit­comb and Bryan Jewell; and three great grand­chil­dren: Riley Telle, Joseph and Orion Kral.
