Goodwill VFC plans fundraisers
CENTREVILLE — The Goodwill Fire Company has two tasty fundraisers coming up.
The volunteers will hold a pancake breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. It will be an all-you-can-eat affair with pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, scrapple, creamed chipped beef, sausage gravy, coffee and juice. The price will be $8 for adults, $4 for children.
On Saturday, Nov. 12, an oyster and bull roast will be held at the firehouse from 5 to 9 p.m., with a cost of $45 in advance or $50 at the door, per person. Food provided by Paul Gunther will include oysters on the half shell, pit beef, pulled pork, salads, setups, dessert, beer, and soda. A cash bar will be available. There will also be wheels, games of chance, and a 50/50 raffle for those with a gambling intent.
The fire company will also benefit from a community shredding day to be held on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 2977 4-H Park Road, at Cvach Financial Services office. This is a time to clean out your old boxes of paper records, free of charge, however a donation to the fire company is requested. John Cvach is the assistant treasurer of Goodwill Fire Company. The location is just past where Route 213 turns into Route 18 at the southern entrance to town.
