Soistman to offer free dental outreach day
CENTREVILLE — Soistman Family Dentistry is proud to announce its first Centreville Smiles Dental Outreach Day. The business’ mission is to serve the community and patients in need with either one complimentary cleaning, filling, or extraction on a first come, first served basis. The event will be held at Soistman Family Dentistry at 100 Pennsylvania Avenue in Centreville.
Registration for the event will begin at 7 a.m. on the day of the event, Saturday, Oct. 15. Patients will be prescreened and given a number and asked to wait outside until they are called for treatment. Patients will not need to provide any proof of income or lack of insurance to receive treatment at the event.
“We want to help people that need help and wouldn’t otherwise be able to get treatment,” said Dr. Jonathan Soistman.
Last year, Soistman participated in Make A Difference, day providing similar services on location in Sudlersville in conjunction with Dr. Robert Mantoni, of Silver Spring, known as “The Mobile Dentist.”
Soistman said he hopes to make Centreville Smiles Dental Outreach Day an annual event to benefit those in Queen Anne’s County and the surrounding area.
“Every one has a story, something going on in their life ... to have the added stress of tooth pain, if we can just play a little role in brightening someone’s life, that’s what we want to do, making a difference one tooth at a time,” said Soistman.
The office has asked that interested participants refrain from calling the office ahead of time, instead simply show up the day of the event to complete a registration form. It is also suggested to bring a folding chair and book and food or drink if desired to help while passing the time.
There is limited parking on Pennsylvania Avenue and Kidwell Avenue at Soistman Family Dentistry. The office suggests carpooling if you know someone also attending the event.
