De­tour gets ap­proval for Nov. 6 bridge run, walk

STEVENSVILLE — The third an­nual Across the Bay 10K will take place on Sun­day, Nov. 6. More than 20,000 par­tic­i­pants are ex­pected to run or walk the 6.2 miles from Northrop Grum­man on the western shore, across the east­bound span of the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay Bridge, along Pier One Road and up Route 8 to the fin­ish line in Ch­e­sa­peake Bay Busi­ness Park.

For the ad­di­tional safety of the par­tic­i­pants and spec­ta­tors, the Queen Anne’s County Sher­iff’s Of­fice and the State High­way Ad­min­is­tra­tion have ap­proved a tem­po­rary de­tour of Route 18 be­tween Main Street and Love Point Road from 5 a.m. un­til 2 p.m. on Sun­day, Nov. 6.

Dur­ing this time, traf­fic will be de­toured through Stevensville on Love Point Road and Main Street. In ad­di­tion, res­i­dents wish­ing to travel west on U.S. Route 50 are ad­vised to ap­proach the high­way on ei­ther Duke Street or Cas­tle Ma­rina Road.
