Huguenin named hospice Volunteer of the Month
CENTREVILLE — Compass Regional Hospice chose Estate Treasures volunteer Nina Huguenin of Grasonville as its most recent volunteer of the month. Estate Treasures, an upscale resale shop that benefits Compass Regional Hospice, is run by more than 100 volunteers.
The Estate Treasures volunteer who nominated Huguenin said, “(Huguenin) is a true volunteer, as she gives so much of her spare time to Estate Treasures, going far beyond the realm of expectations.”
After working a full-time job, Huguenin volunteers for Estate Treasures. Dur- ing her Saturday shift, she not only does the routine duties assigned to her as a shift leader, but she returns on Sunday to sort through donations and clean the shop. She also plays a key role in keeping Estate Treasures organized by creating the schedule, notifying volunteers of changes and making sure no shift is short staffed.
Estate Treasures depends on volunteers to manage shop operations, staff retail shifts and plan fundraisers that benefit Compass Regional Hospice. The shop is located at 17 Kent Towne Market in Chester. Normal shop hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, but there are new extended fall store hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
