Ju­lia May Jester Cron­shaw

CHURCH HILL — Ju­lia May Jester Cron­shaw died peace­fully in her home on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 24, 2016. Ju­lia was born Dec. 19, 1922 near Church Hill, Queen Anne’s County, MD, on Spread Eagle Farm, daugh­ter of the late Roger and Ju­lia May Payne Jester. She grew up on Wal­nut Hill Farm near In­gle­side, MD, where she at­tended the In­gle­side Ele­men­tary School and grad­u­ated from Sudlersville High School with class of 1940.

In Novem­ber 1944, she mar­ried the love of her life, Lin­wood S. Cron­shaw, and en­joyed 53 beau­ti­ful years of mar­riage. Homemak­ing was one of Ju­lia’s many gifts and she loved be­ing a wife, mother, grand­mother, great grand­mother and great great grand­mother.

Ju­lia was a long time ac­tive mem­ber of Cal­vary As­bury United Methodist Church of Sudlersville, MD. In ad­di­tion to church, she was an hon­orary mem­ber of the Sudlersville Com­mu­nity Bet­ter­ment Club. Af­ter mov­ing to Delaware in 1997, she be­came an as­so­ciate mem­ber of the As­bury United Methodist Church of Smyrna.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Ju­lia was pre­ceded in death by her beloved hus­band in 1998 and two dear broth­ers: Roger F. Jester and Wil­liam R. Jester, and a beloved sis­ter, Ros­alie Jester Flinn.

Ju­lia is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Ju­lia Cron­shaw Hop­kins (Judy) and hus­band Eric J. Hop­kins near Clay­ton, DE. Ju­lia is also sur­vived by her two grand­chil­dren: Jef­frey Lin Hop­kins with his wife Tara of Chari­ton, Iowa; Ju­lia Pen­rose H. Fraw­ley with her hus­band Gre­gory J. Fraw­ley Jr. near Clay­ton, DE; four great grand­chil­dren: Jena Claire and Scott Hop­kins in ad­di­tion to Spencer John and Ju­lia May Fraw­ley. Ju­lia was fur­ther blessed with twin great great grand­chil­dren: Rosie and Ricky. Cindy En­gle­bach Cal­la­han of Clay­ton, DE, was her dear friend and long time care­giver. In ad­di­tion, sur­viv­ing are many lov­ing nieces and neph­ews plus two sis­ter in laws: Dorothy E. Cron­shaw and Merium Perkins Cron­shaw.

A vis­i­ta­tion will be held Satur­day, Oct. 29, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Fel­lows Fam­ily Funeral Home, 370 Cy­press St., Milling­ton, MD. Ser­vices will be­gin at 1:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. In­ter­ment will fol­low the ser­vice in Sudlersville Ceme­tery in Sudlersville, MD.
