County seeking volunteers for 10K Across the Bay
CENTREVILLE — Queen Anne’s County will host the annual Across the Bay 10k, which is the 5th largest 10k in the U.S. even though it has only been taking place since 2014. In order to ensure that the event runs smoothly, the race organizers will need hundreds of volunteers over a three-day period.
Non-profit organizations play an integral part of the success of this event and are able to raise funds for their cause by putting together a team of five or more people to volunteer.
If an organization is able to volunteer on Nov. 4, 5 or 6 (all ages and physical abilities welcome), just email the event Volunteer Coordinator, Liz, to let her know. She will provide all of the information needed to get a team registered and to make sure this is a fun, productive use of a group’s time.
Liz can be contacted at liz@ bridgerace.com with the name of your organization and she’ll help get people signed up.
If someone would like to sign up to volunteer as an individual or family, it’s very easy and takes only a minute to do. Just go to http://bridgerace. com/volunteers for information about volunteering and a link to the volunteer portal where someone can sign up directly for whichever slot that fits their availability.
Please help spread the word to other groups and community associations so that this year’s event is as amazing as the last two events.
