NARFE to meet Nov. 9

ST. MICHAELS — Na­tional Ac­tive and Re­tired Fed­eral Em­ploy­ees As­so­ci­a­tion (NARFE) Tide­wa­ter Chap­ter (serv­ing Caro­line, Dorch­ester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Tal­bot coun­ties) will hold its monthly chap­ter meet­ing at Town Dock Restau­rant in St. Michaels on Wed­nes­day, Nov. 9. So­cial hour be­gins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch be­gin­ning at 12:30.

A rep­re­sen­ta­tive from the Ox­ford Coast Guard sta­tion will ad­dress the Coast Guard’s mis­sion and ac­tiv­i­ties in our area. A brief busi­ness meet­ing will fol­low the pre­sen­ta­tion.

All ac­tive or re­tired Fed­eral em­ploy­ees and guests are wel­come to at­tend.

Red Rib­bon Week of­fers an op­por­tu­nity to be vis­i­ble and vo­cal in our de­sire for a drug-free com­mu­nity. Re­search shows that chil­dren are less likely to use tobacco, al­co­hol and other drugs when par­ents and other role mod­els are clear and con­sis­tent in their op­po­si­tion to sub­stance use and abuse.
