Sen­sory-friendly Trunk or Treat of­fered

STEVENSVILLE — Kin­era Foun­da­tion Eastern Shore Re­gional Hub will host its an­nual Trunk or Treat event on Sun­day, Oct. 30, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the park­ing lot at 115 Sal­litt Drive, Stevensville, lo­cated at the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay Busi­ness Park. This event is free and open to the pub­lic.

Kin­era’s Trunk or Treat will kick off at 2 p.m. with a sen­sory-friendly “trick or treat­ing” ex­pe­ri­ence tai­lored for fam­i­lies with chil­dren with spe­cial needs. Lo­cal ven­dors and busi­nesses will have ta­bles and trunks dec­o­rated in Hal­loween style, and par­tic­i­pants will have the op­por­tu­nity to vote for their fa­vorite dis­play. Trick or treaters are en­cour­aged to wear Hal­loween cos­tumes and will be able to par­tic­i­pate in the crafts and games sta­tion, as well as trick or treat­ing at the ven­dors’ ta­bles for treats and give­aways. The sen­so­ryfriendly por­tion of the event will last through 4 p.m.

Be­gin­ning at 4 p.m., the Trunk or Treat will open to the pub­lic to of­fer a great pre­lude to the Hal­loween evening or an al­ter­na­tive to door-to-door trick or treat­ing. Food and drinks will be avail­able for sale and all pro­ceeds ben­e­fit the Kin­era Foun­da­tion.
