Friends of Library set record straight

Record Observer - - Opinion -

The Friends of Queen Anne’s County Library greatly appreciates the coverage of our first-ever Adult Spelling Bee on Oct. 20, 2016. Mike Davis’s article captured the friendly competition, suspense and spelling expertise. The article contained one omission and one correction.

The article mentioned members of the Planning Committee but omitted to mention the event coordinator, DeAnn Cheyne. Without her commitment, tireless effort and dedication, the evening would not have been possible. The Friends would like to be sure she is acknowledged.

The headline noted that the event benefited the WRUS. The Wye River Upper School graciously provided the venue, but the proceeds from the evening benefited the Queen Anne’s County Library’s programs and ser vices.
