Ch­ester­wye to present site plan

STEVENSVILLE — The pub­lic is in­vited to at­tend the Nov. 10 Plan­ning Com­mis­sion meet­ing in which a site plan pre­sen­ta­tion for the pro­posed Ch­ester­wye dis­abled adult fa­cil­ity, lo­cated at 325 State Street in Stevensville, will be given.

The Plan­ning Com­mis­sion meet­ing be­gins at 8:45 a.m. in the con­fer­ence room of the new county of­fice build­ing at 110 Vincit St., Centreville. The build­ing is across the street from Queen Anne’s County High School.

Ch­ester­wye was founded in 1067 by a group of con­cerned cit­i­zens in­ter­ested in aid­ing and pro­vid­ing ser­vices to chil­dren with in­tel­lec­tual dis­abil­i­ties. Later, as the chil­dren grew older and as ser­vices were needed in the county, the fo­cus of sup­port was di­rected to­ward adults with in­tel­lec­tual dis­abil­i­ties. Ch­ester­wye owns nine homes in the county and each are hand­i­capped ac­ces­si­ble and can ac­com­mo­date three to five res­i­dents.
