Annapolis man faces drug charges
QUEEN ANNE — An Annapolis man was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute after a traffic stop on Route 309.
A deputy stopped a gold Mercury Grand Marquis for traffic and equipment violations at 11:20 a.m. Oct. 10 near Fox Meadow Road, police said. When speaking with the occupants, the deputy reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana.
A search of the car found several baggies of suspected marijuana (about 40 grams), a digital scale and a grinder, police said.
The driver, Melvin George Moran III, 36, of Annapolis was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia and traffic violations.
His car was seized by the Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force.
Moran was released on his own recognizance by the district court commissioner.
