Schools set Nov. bud­get meet­ings

CENTREVILLE — Queen Anne’s County Pub­lic Schools will hold meet­ings across the county to talk about the fis­cal 2018 bud­get process and ob­tain pub­lic in­put.

The school board is call­ing the bud­get in­for­ma­tion meet­ings town hall meet­ings. The first one took place Wed­nes­day, Nov. 9, at Stevensville Mid­dle School. The re­main­ing meet­ings are set at 7 p.m. Wed­nes­day, Nov. 16, at Centreville Mid­dle School, 231 Ruths­burg Road in Centreville, and 7 p.m. Wed­nes­day, Nov. 30, at Sudlersville Mid­dle School, 600 Charles St. in Sudlersville.

School board mem­bers, In­terim Su­per­in­ten­dent Gre­gory Pilewski, As­sis­tant Su­per­in­ten­dent Janet Pauls, Chief Fi­nan­cial Of­fi­cer Robin Land­graf, Di­rec­tor of Op­er­a­tions Sid Pin­der, Di­rec­tor of Hu­man Re­sources Mark Far­ley and Com­mu­nity Li­ai­son for Ed­u­ca­tion Eq­uity Ed Modell will be present.

This is an op­por­tu­nity for the pub­lic to learn how the bud­get is cre­ated, how lo­cal schools com­pare to other coun­ties across Mary­land in fis­cal terms, and how they can par tic­i­pate in the bud­get process.
